What Multum-Ha is like
Multum-Ha is a fully underground cenote reported to lie about 18 m below the surface. A long wooden spiral staircase drops through a narrow opening into a tall, dark dome with clear, still water and large stalactites. It is the quietest and most atmospheric of the three Cobá cenotes.
Multum-Ha vs Choo-Ha and Tankach-Ha
Choo-Ha is shallow and easy for children, Tankach-Ha has jumping platforms, and Multum-Ha is the deepest-feeling and most dramatic cave. If you only have time for one cave experience, choose Multum-Ha for atmosphere and Tankach-Ha for jumping.
Facilities
Restrooms, showers, life jackets and parking are reported at the site. Pay the entry in cash. Food is limited, so eat in Cobá village before or after.
Safety and rules
The stairs are long and often wet, so go slowly and wear water shoes. The water is deep: weaker swimmers should use a life jacket. Shower first, skip sunscreen and do not touch the stalactites, which take thousands of years to form.
Getting there
